We are shaken and saddened by the news of Dr Anthony King’s death, on Sunday 24 February, in a light aircraft accident, on the slopes of Mt Kenya. We had the privilege of knowing and working with Anthony during his time as Executive Director at the Laikipia Wildlife Forum, and most recently on his work to help devise and implement the new national rhino strategy for black rhinos in Kenya. Kenya has lost one of its most informed, articulate and passionate champions of wildlife and community. Our hearts go out to Delphine, Oscar and Lorian.

Just been watching the last of his greatest master piece,LAIKIPIA THE LAND OF LIFE.Surely he had conservation in his heart.King, your words will live forever with us.
At times like this you feel there is no justice. However, as we mourn a true hero we must re-group, to try and do all we can, in whatever way we can, to help the natural world against the onslaught of human greed and destruction that pervades the globe. Our deepest sysmpathy is sent to Dr King’s family and [I am sure] many friends.
Please accept my deepest condoleances. The tragic accident which seized Dr. King’s life signifies a great loss for the wildlife and people of Kenya. Nature conservationists from all over the world are mouring with Dr. King’s family.
