The 22 September is a very special day for rhinos fans……. it’s World Rhino Day!
We were overwhelmed with the level of support from individuals, zoos and companies worldwide, who fundraised and spread the world to raise awareness for the world’s five rhino species. #WorldRhinoDay was trending worldwide on twitter and number one in the UK so we certainly gained the public’s attention!
With the help of some lovely volunteers, Save the Rhino took our rhino costumes to London Bridge and London Waterloo stations for a fundraising bucket collection, raising a fantastic £1,400 for rhino conservation.
Thanks to all those who got involved in our #Nailit4Rhinos campaign, highlighting that rhino horn is made from keratin – the same substance found in human hair and hails. Your creativity was incredible and we have seen some fantastic images shared on social media. We have published a gallery of some of the best photos below. This year we were grateful to have the support of Barry M cosmetics who offered five Speedy Nail Kit prizes to the top #Nailit4Rhinos designs. And the winners are Becky Sandy, Charlie @Charlottesayhi, Jens Animal Instincts, Stacey Louise Van Houten and Michelle Horne. You can see their designs below.
We’d also like to say a huge thank you to See.Saw who provided pro-bono support in gaining publicity for our #Nailit4Rhinos campaign.
