World Ranger Day Live!
This World Ranger Day, we’re taking everything online! Join us to celebrate the incredible work of rangers as we speak to those on the frontline to hear their more about their everyday, as well as the people raising money to support their work.
We’ve got a full day of events planned that you can join as they go live, or watch later. Here’s what’s coming up (all times BST):
- 13.30 – Get to know Edward Ndiritu. Edward is the Head of anti poaching at Lewa Conservancy in Kenya. We’ll be sitting down with Edward (virtually!) to learn about his life and work protecting Kenya’s rhinos
- 15.30 – Cycle for Rangers. In 2017, Theo and Charlie cycled Cape town to Nairobi, more than 5,000 miles, raising more than £40,000 for ForRangers. On World Ranger Day, they’ll be sharing all about their journey; how it began, what happened throughout, and what’s next
- 17.30 – A conversation with Sam Taylor. Sam co-founded ForRangers, a group that’s raised more than $2,000,000 to improve rangers lives. We’re sitting down with Sam to talk about his life in conservation, his adventures – like climbing mount Everest – and why he wanted to set up ForRangers with co-founder Pete Newland
- 19.00 – A day in the life of the dog squad. We’ll be joined by Benny, Gift and Joyce from North Luangwa Conservation Project’s anti-poaching canine team to learn about the vital roles dog play in supporting rangers
We’d love you to join us on World Ranger Day to celebrate our incredible rangers, and remember those that have lost their lives in the line of duty. On World Ranger Day, all donations through our events and on our website will be going to support ForRangers.
