Help the environment

Helping the environment helps the natural world and rhinos!

You can be rhi-mazing by helping the greater natural world by following the five steps below to help preserve all our natural resources. Did you know rhinos are umbrella species? This doesn’t mean that rhinos protect smaller animals from bad weather! Rhinos through simply existing help protect the homes of smaller species and improving biodiversity like the rhino’s friend the oxpecker who feeds from the small bugs that live on the rhino!

  • Unfortunately every year lots of waste is thrown away, rhi-not not find ways to reuse and recycle items which might have ended up in the bin. You could hold a yard sale or make rhinos puppets out of old odd socks (remember to always ask a parent or guardian for help!)
  • If you are able to why not try cycling, walking or using public transport with you family rather than taking the car. Not only does it save fuel but it can be fun to travel as a herd!
  • Be careful of drippy taps! be a splash super hero like the water loving Greater One-Horn Rhino and remember to turn off tap when not in use and reuse water bottles to save on plastic waste!
  • How do you stop a rhino from charging? You unplug it! If you are not using an electronical you can save energy and unplug it.
  • If you go for walks in local green spaces, remember to stay on paths so you don’t accidently damage any vegetation or smaller animals homes!
