This Christmas, Save the Rhino is excited to be a charity beneficiary of a Radio 4 Charity Appeal.
UK supporters can tune into BBC Radio 4 on Sunday 20 December at 07.54 or 21.26 to listen to our charity appeal with Sam Taylor from Borana Conservancy. The appeal will be repeated again at 12.54 on Christmas eve.
We are delighted that Sam Taylor, Chief Conservation Officer at Borana Conservancy was able to present the appeal on behalf of Save the Rhino, giving listeners a real firsthand insight into the challenges of protecting rhinos in the field, and the crucial role of the dogs in anti-poaching strategies.
The appeal is in aid of Save the Rhino’s Rhino Dog Squad appeal, which is fundraising for training, equipment and veterinary care for the canine units protecting rhinos in Kenya’s rhinos. Funds raised from the appeal will benefit four sanctuaries within Kenya’s Association of Private Land Rhino Sanctuaries, Ol Jogi, Ol Pejeta, Borana and Lewa Wildlife Conservancies.
More details about the appeal, how to donate and to listen online after the broadcast can be found on the BBC Radio 4 website.
Please note there may be viewing restrictions for international supporters outside of the UK depending on the country you are based in. If you are unable to listen to the recording you can watch our video series about the Rhino Dog Squad on our YouTube channel.
So encouraging that you are doing this – all good luck with a FAB initiative
