Frequently Asked Questions

 What is the event?

Save the Rhino International will be participating in Santa in the City London which is taking place on 4 December 2024. Your registration fee of £28.95pp includes your Santa suit and medal.

Do I have to raise money?

While there is no mandatory fundraising, we encourage all participants to raise as much as possible to support rhino conservation efforts. Every donation makes a difference.

When you register, your fundraising page will automatically be created.  You can then make it your own by setting you fundraising target and sharing why you are raising money for rhinos.  Add you picture and then you can share it with all your friends, family and colleagues.

What is the route?

Your Santa Run 4.5km route will begin, in front of The Founders Arms and just outside the Tate Modern. You will run along the Thames Embankment, enjoying the world-famous views of the City of London, St Pauls Cathedral, and the Millenium Bridge.

You will then pass the Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre and then turn towards Southwark Bridge, cross over the bridge and then hug the north embankment, going through the Thames’s hidden paths, running towards the Tower of London and Tower Bridge.

You will then return through the City, back over Southwark Bridge to Bankside. After another 500m, you once again take in the views of St Paul’s Cathedral and Millennium Bridge to the finish, where you started from, in front of the Tate Modern, completing a truly iconic route!

 Is there a bag drop at this event?

No. Unfortunately, due to security reasons, there will not be a bag drop, so please come run ready or be prepared to run with your bag. Any items/bags left unattended may be removed and destroyed. If you do see a bag unattended, please advise the event or security team immediately. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

 What are the registration options?

You can register as an Individual or register as a team.

 What is the minimum size for a Group or Team?

The minimum size for a team is two people.

 How much is a Santa in the City running place?

Santa in the City London running places are £29.95pp which includes your Santa suit, running number and medal.

How old do I need to be to enter?

Runners must be over 3 years old to enter. All runners between 3yrs – and 18 years are free, they receive a medal but do not receive a Santa suit.

Children aged 3-8 years need to be accompanied by a participating adult at all times. The participating adult can accompany a maximum of three 3-8-year-olds and must have them within arms reach throughout the run.

Children aged 9-18 years must have parental permission to take part and have a responsible adult (+18 years) available at the event. The responsible adult does not need to take part in the run.

All children (3-18yrs) must register for a place via the website and have a parent/guardian complete a Child Registration form for them in advance or they will be refused entry on the day.

If I pay for a Santa in the City running place and then find I can’t do the run, what are my options?

You have two options in this event they are:
Option 1 – Transfer your place to another person by emailing our fundraising team on fundraising@savetherhino.org. Please put ‘TRANSFER’ in the title of the email and include your name, runner confirmation number, and the person who will be taking your place.
Option 2 – Defer your place to 2025 by email by emailing the fundraising team at fundraising@savetherhino.org. Please put ‘DEFER 25’ in the title of the email and include your name, and runner confirmation number in the email. You cannot defer your place after 6 pm on 30 November 2024.

Is Santa in the City accessible?

Our Santa in the City route is fully accessible for participants wanting to take part in wheelchairs or run with buggies.

 What time can I check in on the day for Santa in the City, London?

You can check in from 6am on the day of the event.

What time does the run start?

The run starts at 7.00 pm. Please be at the start point ready to run 5-10 minutes before your wave is due to start.

 When do I get my Santa Suit and medal?

Santa Suits can be collected on the day of the event at the Santa in the City registration point:  London – from 12.00 pm. This is located at The Founders Arms, 52 Hopton Street, London, SE1 9JH.

What size is the Santa Suit?

The Santa Suit is a one size fits all.

 Are children’s Santa Suits available?

Unfortunately, we do not supply children’s Santa Suits. Children are welcome to run for free, they must be at least 8 years old to take part and are welcome to wear their own festive outfits.
