Terms and Conditions for the Great African Rhino Adventure

 

1. Introduction 

Welcome to the Great African Rhino Adventure, a virtual event organised by Save the Rhino International to raise funds for Save the Rhino International. By participating in this event, you agree to comply with these Terms and Conditions.  

2. Registration 
  • Participants must register through our official event website 
  • Registration is free and participants are encouraged to fundraise for Save the Rhino International 
  • Participants must provide accurate and complete registration information
3. Participation 
  • The event runs from 1 August 2024 to 22 September 2024 
  • Participants may complete their chosen activities (e.g., walking, running, cycling, swimming, wheeling) at their own pace and schedule during this period 
  • Participants must either log their activities through Strava, which is linked to their fundraising page, or they may enter them manually on their fundraising page 
4. Health and safety 
  • Participants are responsible for ensuring they are in good health and physically capable of completing their chosen activities 
  • Save the Rhino International is not responsible for any injuries or health issues that may arise during participation in the event 
 5. Liability 
  • Save the Rhino International is not liable for any loss, damage or injury sustained by participants during the event 
  • Participants acknowledge that their involvement in the event is at their own risk 
6. Fundraising 
  • Participants are encouraged to set a fundraising target and seek donations from family, friends, loved ones, colleagues and others to support their adventure challenge 
  • All funds raised must be submitted to Save the Rhino International via the official online fundraising platform, Enthuse, by 30 September 2024 
  • Funds raised will go directly to Save the Rhino International and will be used however the charity deems appropriate, in accordance with its charitable purpose 
 7. Intellectual property 
  • All content relating to the Great African Adventure is the property of Save the Rhino International 
  • Content provided is for fundraising use for this virtual event only and must not be used for any other reason, unless Save the Rhino has provided written consent 
 8. Incentives and rewards 
  • Participants reaching fundraising milestones will be eligible for rewards as follows: 
  • £50: Campaign t-shirt 
  • £150: Discount codes / vouchers for selected retailers, some of which will only be valid in the United Kingdom 
  • £350: One-year limited edition membership to Save the Rhino International 
  • £500: Entry into a draw to win a hamper
9. Prize draw 
  • Employees of Save the Rhino, their families and volunteers are not eligible to enter the prize draw 
  • Entry to the prize draw is automatic for participants who raise £500 and more for Save the Rhino International through the Great African Rhino Adventure virtual event 
  • All funds must be on our official online fundraising platform, Enthuse, by 30 September 2024 to be eligible for the prize draw. Funds raised after that date will not be eligible 
  • The winner will be selected at random from all eligible entries received by the closing date 
  • The draw will take place on the 3 October 2024 
  • The winner will be notified via email or phone within two days of the draw 
  • The winner must claim their prize within five days of being notified 
  • If the winner does not claim the prize within this time frame, they will forfeit the prize and a new winner will be drawn following the above process
10. Communications 

By signing up to the Great African Adventure on Enthuse, you agree to receive communications relating to the virtual event from both Save the Rhino International and Enthuse 

11. Cancellation 

If you are unable or unwilling to take part in or complete the challenge for any reason, then you will be responsible for contacting your donors to ask if they are still happy for the money to go Save the Rhino International. If refunds are required, you must, make contact with Save the Rhino’s fundraising team so that we can facilitate refunds

12. Data Protection 

By signing up to the Great African Rhino Adventure, participants personal data will be collected and processed in accordance with the General Data  

Protection Regulation (GDPR) 

13. Privacy

By participating in the Great African Rhino Adventure, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to Save the Rhino International’s Privacy Policy 

14. Governing law

These terms and conditions shall be governed by English law, and the parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales
